A few thoughts on a snowy day, waiting for baseball..... The Reds winter caravan is on the move, and actually made a visit three miles from my house. But I couldn't go, because I had to work last night. Bummer. Last year, I got some good snapshots. The local paper took photos, which you can see here if you are of a mind to do so. That's Jay Bruce in the striped shirt, and Ryan Freel goin' all gangsta in the toboggan. The Reds took a flier on Jeremy Affeldt as a starter on the recommendation of their scouts, John Fay says. Affeldt has said he went with the Reds over other teams because of the chance to start. Works for me. A lefty who throws 93 is hard to come by. Can we start spring training now, please? Or at least Monday? I can't wait any more. |
