Will Carroll on Baseball Prospectus reports that there are rumors the Reds are in on Oakland reliever Huston Street, but no one knows why they would be. Surely not, with Francisco Cordero signed to a $44 million contract, unless this was some crazy three-way deal. Very weird. And, with Bronson Arroyo on a hot streak having won five starts in a row, he has become a much hotter commodity, but at the same time more desirable to keep. He also says he doesn't want to leave. I'd see what I could get for him, but not be in a hurry to trade him. He has a reasonable contract, if he can be even a league-average pitcher. A veteran or two to steady the rotation is a good thing. Reds and Rockies tomorrow. The defending NL champ Rockies have fallen on hard times. The Reds continue their quest for .500. Each team's best pitcher to this point will start: Edinson Volquez for Cincinnati, Aaron Cook for Colorado. |
